The ESB Inter-Colleges Challenge

The ESB Inter-Colleges Challenge is a fast paced event that aims to test a full range of engineering, financial and team working skills. The event is designed to encourage teams to apply their knowledge to develop innovative, creative and commercially focused solutions to real life challenges.

The winning team is offered placements within ESB and sponsored to represent their college at the Engineering and Commerce Case Competition. Runners-up prizes include iPads and Summer Placements with ESB.

Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) claimed the title for the ESB Inter-Colleges Challenge for 2018 and will now represent their college and Ireland at at the Engineering and Commerce Case Competition in Montreal, Canada. For the challenge, students had to research, design and develop a customer proposition which enables widespread adoption of low-carbon technologies and services for all citizens of the future. Teams were allocated eight hours to research and design a solution to the task, after which they pitched their idea to an expert panel of judges.
