The competition now boasts over 190 individual classical music competitions including voice, piano, strings, wind, brass and orchestra. In addition to the prestige of winning at the ESB Electric Ireland Feis Ceoil, successful competitors will also enjoy over €50,000 worth of prizes.
With a recession proof ticket price of €5 per day, anyone can visit the RDS, Dublin during the two weeks of the ESB Electric Ireland Feis Ceoil to enjoy a few relaxing hours of classical music performances.
Irish adults love music. Research commissioned by sponsors ESB Electric Ireland confirms that music is a favourite leisure activity for most Irish adults: -
- 92% claim they listen to music regularly,
- Over half of the adult population (57%) attend music concerts regularly,
- Over a third of Irish adults (38%) play a musical instrument,
- Over a quarter of Irish adults (29%) claim they like classical music,
- One in ten people have been involved with Feis Ceoil either through their own participation or that of a friend or family member.

Some of the most outstanding competitors from the 2011 ESB Electric Ireland Feis Ceoil will be showcased at a special Gala Concert in the Dublin Convention Centre on April 16th 2011. The concert will feature The Celtic Tenors, and will be attended by the Patron of Feis Ceoil Association, President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.
