Electric Ireland unveil exciting new ad campaign in support of the GAA All Ireland Minor Championships
Electric Ireland, Ireland’s largest energy provider, is launching a new television and cinema advertising campaign to bring new energy to its sponsorship of the GAA All Ireland Minor Championships. The ad will air for the first time on Friday August 1st.
Entitled This.Is.Major, the ad intends to break the mould of traditional GAA advertising and to elevate the stature and understanding of the Minor players’ lives through a series of scenes including training, matches, school, exams, romance and the debs.
Ken McKervey, Commercial Manager, Electric Ireland said: “The new campaign aims to capture the dynamic energy of what it means to be a Minor GAA player. The GAA Minor Hurling and Football Championships sponsorship is very important for our brand and business as we know so many of our customers are passionate about the energy of sport and in particular the GAA. With this campaign, we aim to elevate the strength of the Electric Ireland Minor Championships with the powerful line “This.Is.Major”, which captures the passion and memories evoked in the life of a Minor player.”
The ad features music developed by The Hit Machine Drummers which was inspired both by the GAA tradition of the Artane Band as well as American college drumlines.
