Electric Picnic goers don’t need to ‘hold out for a hero’ any longer as today, August 12th 2014, Electric Ireland, Official Energy Partner to the festival, announced that Bonnie Tyler, 80’s iconic power ballad singer will be appearing on stage at the Electric Ireland Power House on Saturday 30th August.
Over the weekend at the Electric Ireland Power House, ‘picnicers’ will also be able to enjoy the infectious energy of 80’s tribute band Spring Break, power ballad discos and the Electric Ireland Disco Brunch with DJs from Disco Brunch with their one off power ballad remix playlist.
Having not performed in Ireland for several years now, Bonnie Tyler said, ‘I’m thrilled that Electric Ireland invited me to perform at their Electric Ireland Power House I know that there is great energy at Electric Picnic and I am really excited about being there”.
With the festival now sold out, Power Ballad fans will also have an opportunity to win tickets through the Electric Ireland Power Ballads Competition giving fans the opportunity to win 30 tickets.
From Monday 18th August until Friday 22nd August, participants will be in with the chance of going to Electric Picnic, courtesy of Electric Ireland, with 6 tickets to be won each day for the five days. Entrants simply need to follow these steps:
- Choose a favourite power ballad – by logging on to powerballads.ie and selecting from the power ballads playlist.
- Make an Instagram video – Record using lip-syncing skills with the best expressions – the cheesier the better!
- Tag the video – with #PowerBallads and #ElectricPicnic2014, change privacy settings to public and it will be submitted to www.powerballads.ie for the public to vote.
- The video with the most votes at the end of each day will win 6 tickets to Electric Picnic (& will be very popular with their friends!).
As Official Energy Partner to Electric Picnic, Electric Ireland has reduced the festival’s lighting emissions by 80%. Through the partnership Electric Ireland installs 6 kilometres of energy efficient festoon lighting around the camp sites and walk ways to guide festival go-ers around the festival.
