Electric Ireland launches unique new customer communications campaign

Electric Ireland has launched a uniquely creative customer communications campaign entitled ‘You’re smarter than you think’ which demonstrates the many ways that Electric Ireland is the smarter choice for customers.

The lynchpin of the through the line campaign is a suite of unique and entertaining TV ads. The campaign which lives across TV, radio and digital focuses on three different areas;

1.       Existing Electric Ireland customers benefit from the best long term savings on gas and electricity every year.

2.       Existing customers have exclusive access to Electric Ireland Rewards which offers money off their energy bills, treats, discounts and plenty of prizes.

3.       Smarter Home, customers will be able to control their home heating, hot water and lights all from their phone.

The campaign, which will be rolled out over the coming months, was devised by Dublin-based agency TBWA. The TV ads were produced by Dublin-based production company Speers Films and directed by Tom Merlion. Music is from Georges Bizet’s well-known opera ‘Carmen’ and adds an arresting dimension to the unusual creative. The shoot involved extremely challenging slow motion filming, four times slower than real time which saw six seconds of acting slowed down to 24 seconds in the finished piece.

 Lisa Browne, Head of Marketing, Electric Ireland, commented: “Our new customer communications campaign aims to reassure our customers that it’s a smarter choice to be with Electric Ireland, financially and for products, services and innovation. The situations shown as part of the campaign reflect scenarios in everyday life and what we want to communicate is that although we don’t have the answers for everything, Electric Ireland offers some of the solutions to the challenges that present themselves.”
