Storm Ophelia Outage update: ESB Networks crews restore power to a further 8,000 homes, farms and businesses this evening, bringing total reconnected to 356,000 customers

  • Restoration work in difficult conditions continues, field by field, tree by tree, pole by pole
  • Work continues to restore remaining 29,000 customers

In difficult weather conditions, ESB Networks staff have restored power to a further 8,000 homes, farms and businesses since 5:00pm this evening. The number of customers without power as of 8:30pmtonight now stands at 29,000, meaning a total of 356,000 homes, farms and businesses have now been restored. Contractors and crews from NIE Networks, EDF and overseas utilities and defence forces personnel have been assisting these efforts, with Wexford and Cork being the worst affected counties.
