Lead Project Manager, Utility Management and Consulting Group
Tell us about your business area?
The multidisciplined team provides strategic advice on project development, finance and regulation, operational performance and innovation, and emerging technologies. We work with utilities, international funding agencies, ministries and other energy sector stakeholders worldwide.
How does your role impact on our Brighter Future Strategy?
The issues facing many of our international clients - increasing access, low carbon strategies, unbundling utilities and energy market transformation have parallels with Ireland's past, current and future journey. My role supports international clients on their Brighter Future journey, transforming energy markets, integrating renewables and implementing low carbon strategies.
What are you most proud of?
I've been lucky to have worked on multiple projects across Africa and the Middle East which have created real impact. I'm very proud of being part of teams that have helped transform utilities and deliver key infrastructure. Living and working overseas has been both professionally and personally very rewarding as I experienced diverse project themes and cultures while creating life-long memories.
Which mentors or role models have positively impacted your career journey?
I've had wonderful colleagues throughout the years who have influenced and benefited my career. Despite working in often challenging environments, I learned from the team early on during my first long term assignment in Tanzania, that bringing a positive, upbeat attitude boosts morale and brings momentum to any project.
What advice would you give to your 18-year old self?
Don't pass on opportunities, trust your instincts and pursue what will bring you the most joy.
