Dublin 19 July 2018 All-Star winning Cork footballer, Daniel Goulding has teamed up with Electric Ireland as part of its GAA ‘This is Major’ campaign, to offer one lucky GAA team (Club or School) the chance to win an exclusive training session with Daniel, where he will take the team through his favourite drills and skills of the game.
Goulding is serving on a four-man awards selection panel throughout the Championship season, alongside fellow GAA legends, Michael Fennelly, Ollie Canning and Sean Cavanagh. The panel continue to select Player of the Week nominations each week, which are put to public vote on the Electric Ireland Facebook page and at the end of the season the panel will be choosing the Hurling and Football Teams of the Year at the 2018 Electric Ireland Minor Star Awards. Goulding has a keen eye for spotting up and coming talent through his role on the Electric Ireland selection panel and is looking to offer his experience and coaching skills to a club or school team.
Born in Ovens and educated in Bishopstown, Cork’s Daniel Goulding said; “Encouraging players from youth level, right through to Minor and even Senior level is so important; it gives them the confidence to be able to trust in themselves and drive their playing careers forward. I am delighted to be able to offer a training session to a team and to be able to pass on some of the mental and physical skills that I was taught over the years and to encourage players to get on the field and play to the best of their ability every time. It was always a dream of mine since I was a little boy to wear my county jersey and I am hoping that through the training session, I can also show that this can be an achievable goal for anyone willing to work hard at it.”
Goulding, who experienced great success throughout his own playing career, knows the score when it comes to getting the best out of yourself and offered advice to young players; “Work really hard, focus on the performance, focus on yourself and enjoy it! Be grateful to everyone that has helped you along the way.” For more insights from Daniel’s life as a GAA Player, please visit [Video Link].
