ESB has released its latest Emerging Technology Insights report for 2025, which assesses a wide range of emerging technologies from across the energy sector in Ireland.
The report, published annually, outlines ESB’s interactions with these technologies, and aims to stimulate discussion, collaboration and innovation by evaluating the technological readiness of various technologies.
Some of the technologies covered in the report are already in commercial use, such as district heating and anaerobic digestion, or are in the early stages of becoming available to the market, while others are in the earlier stages of development.
Speaking on the publication of the report, John Walsh Emerging Technology and R&D Manager with ESB, said:
"The Emerging Technology Insights report is a great summary of everything we're doing in emerging technologies and it is well worth reading to find out how we're leveraging cutting-edge technology to help us deliver our strategy to reach net zero by 2040."
