Our Story

  • The Beginning

    ESB has been helping Ireland switch to cleaner driving since 2010. We built the country's first nationwide public charging network so people can confidently make the transition to electric vehicles (EVs). Today, we have the largest network of public EV chargers across the island of Ireland and we are growing in Great Britain too, making it easier than ever to charge up and get moving.

  • Growing the network

    We are continuing to grow and improve our public EV charging network so it's easier for you to charge wherever you go. Across Ireland, we have just completed a major €20 million upgrade programme supported by the Irish Government’s Climate Action Fund, adding new chargers and boosting the performance of existing sites. In Northern Ireland, we are also investing £3.27 million through the Levelling Up Fund (LUF) to modernise the network and deliver a smother, more reliable charging experience. Its all part of our commitment to making electric driving simple, convenient, and ready for the future.
