ESB partners with to help deliver support for homeowners during the retrofit process

  • Irish-based Prime19’s demystifies retrofit process for homeowners, providing them with tailored guidance on their specific home

ESB is today announcing a new pilot partnership with, the revolutionary platform which helps guide homeowners through their retrofit journey by providing tailor-made advice based on the specific details of their home. The partnership was agreed as part of the ESB-supported Free Electrons programme – the team will now work directly with ESB’s Customer Solutions business unit, Electric Ireland, to deliver supports for homeowners beginning their home retrofit journey.

The unique algorithms of automatically provide a clear set of options enabling homeowners to avail of the highest energy rating uplift possible within their specified budget. The platform also includes details of all grants available to the homeowner, as well as providing estimates of the various savings and property value increases that can be achieved. Importantly, the site also connects homeowners with SEAI-approved contractors and One Stop Shop Services to commence the upgrade work.

As part of the partnership, visitors to the platform will be provided with estimates on the savings they could achieve with Electric Ireland price plans alongside their retrofit project. Through the site, homeowners can also avail of Electric Ireland’s ever-growing suite of offerings, such as Solar PV, to enable them to take action at the click of a button.

The Free Electrons programme is the world’s first global utility accelerator that gives entrepreneurs access to a panel of innovative electricity companies with a direct market channel to 80 million customers in 40+ countries around the globe. ESB is a founding member, and the grand finale of this year’s programme took place in Mumbai, India in mid-October. Prime19 was selected for participation in the programme from 750 energy tech start-ups across 74 countries.
