ESB Undergraduate Programme

ESB offers undergraduate placements to students from a variety of disciplines every year for six to nine months. It is a great opportunity to gain a real-world experience that’s relevant to your field of study.

ESB Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship Programmes

ESB recruits apprentices during different times of the year to start their electrical and mechanical engineering career with us. It is a four-year programme leading to QQI advanced level 6 Electrical trade certificate. By completing this apprenticeship, you will also attain a BTEC (Level 3) Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical and Electronic Engineering as well as a Level 3 Extended Diploma.

ESB Business Apprenticeship Programmes

- IT Apprenticeship
A two-year programme, in conjunction with FIT, during which you gain valuable experience in Software Development, Network Engineering or Cyber Security while studying part-time for an Advanced Certificate in IT (NFQ Level 6).

- Accounting Technician Apprenticeship
Run by Accounting Technician’s Ireland in partnership with SOLAS, It is a two-year programme where apprentices gain practical accounting experience in a business and attend college to gain a Level 6 QQI Advanced Certificate in Accounting. Apprentices work four days and attend college one day per week.

- Recruitment Apprenticeship
Run by the National Recruitment Federation in conjunction with the National College of Ireland and SOLAS, it is a three-year programme where apprentices gain practical experience in recruitment and attend college to gain a Level 8 BA Hons Degree in Recruitment Practice. Apprentices work four days on site and attend college one day per week.
