Privacy Notices
The below privacy notices govern how we collect, use and manage personal information across the multiple businesses owned and operated by ESB.
This privacy notice applies to all personal data processed by the Electricity Supply Board (“ESB”) or an ESB subsidiary company in relation to their external stakeholders (except where governed by a separate privacy notice). ESB is a diversified and vertically integrated-utility operating across the Irish and UK electricity markets from generation, through transmission and distribution to the supply of customers.
Note: All personal data processed by ESB and/or ESB subsidiary companies in relation to internal stakeholders (i.e. employees or contractors) are covered by a separate privacy notice which is available internally on the HubHQ intranet site.
This privacy notice applies to all personal data processed by ESB Networks, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) which act as is the licensed operator of the electricity distribution system for all electricity customers in the Republic of Ireland.
For the purposes of data protection law, the Data Controller is ESB Networks DAC having their registered addresses at: - Three Gateway, East Wall Road, Dublin 3 D03 R583, Ireland.

This privacy notice applies to all personal data processed by ESB ecars, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) which builds, owns and operates EV charging networks for public use across the island of Ireland.
For the purposes of data protection law, the Data Controllers are ESB Innovation ROI Limited (Republic of Ireland) and ESB Innovation UK Limited (Northern Ireland) having their registered addresses at: - 27 Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Dublin 2, D02 KT92, Ireland and Eastcastle House, 27/28 Eastcastle Street, London, England, W1W 8DH (respectively).
Note: Personal data is shared between these two companies for the purposes of facilitating all island operations.

What personal data we process and where it comes from
- Contact Details: Including your name, address, telephone number and email address.

- Vehicle Information: Details about your vehicle including, make, model, registration number, as well as the year of registration.
- Charging data: Charging session details including the date, time, location, duration and energy consumed.
- Payment information: Credit/debit card details and bank account details you provide to make payment for the products and services we provide to you; as well as a record of your payment history with us.
- Communications: Information about your interactions with us including recording/reporting of faults, issues encountered while charging on our network and account related queries.
- Recordings of telephone conversations between you and our customer support teams.
- Marketing information: details of your consent for us to send marketing information and your preferences around this.
- Information provided by you when you take part in customer surveys or market research.

Any other personal data relating to you that you provide to us or that we generate in connection with our relationship with you.
Why we collect your personal data
We collect your personal data so that we can manage our relationships with you. Activities that we require personal data for include:

- Developing, maintaining, and improving our services. For example, to conduct customer surveys, to analyse usage patterns, conduct research and enhance the performance of our services.
- To enable us to provide services to you such as our online account management tool and Mobile Application.

Who we transfer your personal data to
- Agents or suppliers: These are contract bound persons or companies who provide products or services that we use in conducting our business. These may include companies that: support our IT, process bills and payments, provide customer service and provide charge point network maintenance services.
- Professional advisers: we may transfer or disclose personal data to professional advisers we may engage for any reasonable purpose in connection with our business, including assistance in protecting our rights.
- EV charge point site owners including local authorities: We may provide third party EV charge point site owners and local authorities with energy consumption data relating to the charge points located at their sites. All data shared in this manner is fully anonymised.
- Other external bodies: In certain circumstances, we may be required by law to disclose personal data to external bodies such as health and safety authorities, the national statistics agencies and law enforcement agencies.
In certain circumstances we may also provide fully anonymised data to other external bodies such as government departments, research institutions and local authorities.
